Week 2 Around The Lowcountry

SCPrepNation.com Lowcountry Editor Shedrick Moorer recaps some of the top performances from the Lowcountry in Week 2. Come inside and see what players and teams shined brightly last week. RB Rockarius King (pictured) was at it again for Timberland High as they came away with a huge early season victory.

-Timberland High School RB Rockarius King ran for 172 yards on 32 attempts, and 2 touchdowns to lift the Wolves over the Hanahan Hawks, 26-23.

-Berkeley High School RB Andre Ellington rushed for 192 yards and 2 scores to help lead the Stags to a 26-23 victory over the Fort Dorchester Patriots.

-Running back Jonathan Shine rushed for over 120 yards and 2 scores to lead the Goose Creek Gators over the West Ashley Wildcats 30-0.

-Senior wideout Jewaun Wynn caught 7 passes for 105 yards and three scores for the North Charleston Cougars in a 42-15 win over the Burke Bulldogs. ATH Kendrick Capers ran the ball 16 times for 120 yards to lead the Cougars' ground attack. Sophomore sensation Denzel Myers caught 2 TD passes, and intercepted 2 of them on the defensive side of the ball for the Cougars. All 5 TD passes from the Cougars came from seasoned veteran QB, Jerome Jackson.

-Woodland High QB Robert Smith passed for 216 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Wolverines over Lake Marion.

-Fort Dorchester QB Galen Bennett rushed for 170 yards and 4 touchdowns despite a 26-23 loss to the Berkeley Stags. Bennett also went over the century mark in passing.

-Senior QB John Carnell passed for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 26-24 loss to Timberland. Wide receiver Branden Ford hauled in 6 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns for the Hawks.

-Terrell Brown caught 7 passes for 165 yards to help lead Charleston Collegiate to a 29-0 win over Bible Baptist.

-Pinewood Prep's Ryan Steed threw two touchdown passes, including a 70-yarder to lead the Panthers over Colleton Prep. Steed also returned an interception 30 yards for another score.

-David Saari rushed for 113 yards and 1 score to help lead Bishop England over rival Porter-Gaud 21-10.

-It only took Summerville's RB Jeremy Green 7 times to carry the ball in order to go over the century mark in rushing yards. Green also added 2 scores on the ground to lead the Summerville Greenwave over the James Island Trojans.
