UP NEXT: J.L. Mann 09' CB Quentin McClinton

SCPrepNation.com continues our "UP NEXT" series and we feature a talented cornerback from J.L. Mann High this time in 2009 prospect Quentin McClinton. McClinton has started to emerge from the shadow of teammate J.T. Floyd as he's seeing more passes his way and he's already found a comfort zone in the endzone.

When facing the J.L. Mann Patriots most opposing teams know not to throw it anywhere near 2008 stud safety J.T. Floyd. What has happened though has been a benefit for our next player in our "UP NEXT" series. Enter 2009 CB Quentin McClinton. Last year he suited up for the Greer Yellow Jackets but he's found a home now with the J.L. Mann Patriots.

You see through 3 games this season McClinton had amassed 12 solo tackles and had 2 interceptions returned for touchdowns. That nose for the ball and endzone makes him an attractive prospect to potential college coaches. At 5'8 170 pounds what McClinton lacks in size he makes up for with good instincts and solid preparation. Check out the Q&A with McClinton below.

Quentin McClinton Q&A

KF: What are your stats on the season thus far?
QM: I've had 2 interceptions for TD's and 12 solo tackles in three games.
KF: Talk a little about your best game ever.
QM: That would have to be when I had 8 solo tackles and an interception return for a touchdown in my second varsity game.
KF: Who are the toughest players you've had to matchup with so far?
QM: I'd have to say Greenville's Tony Curtis and Chris Wallace because they both are strong and physical with great speed.
KF: What game or games left on the schedule are you most looking forward to and why?
QM: Greer because I attended Greer my freshman and sophomore year. I started this year out with them this past summer, so I'm looking forward to going back.

Should he get some offers early and the right one comes along McClinton says he could pull the trigger early on a commitment.
