Come inside with SCPrepNation.com to learn more about Ball-Collins.

Each year high school football prospects fly under the radar. While we do our very best to showcase the top talent in the state it happens each season, a few youngsters don't get their due. One such prospect is Summerville LB Justin Ball-Collins. A senior, Ball-Collins has the statistics worthy of a multitude of D1 interest playing for the Green Wave which is a traditional powerhouse here in the Palmetto State. SCPrepNation.com caught up with Ball-Collins recently to talk about his recruitment and to shed some light on his career so that college coaches and fans can learn more about this talented prospect.

Justin Ball-Collins doesn't have any scholarship offers at this point but the 6'0 217 pounder should get a closer look. Last season as a junior Justin had 94 tackles, 3 sacks, 6 fumble recoveries, and numerous forced fumbles for Summerville.

The Green Wave took one on the chin earlier this year on national television at the hands of Booker T. Washington but if you watched and listened closely. #47's name was called quite often because in that game Ball-Collins had 11 tackles and a sack versus Booker T. Washington.

Some schools have started to recruit the senior prospect and he shared those with us. "Right now I'm currently hearing from Tennessee, South Carolina, and South Carolina State. Out of those schools South Carolina and South Carolina State are recruiting me the hardest."

Justin has also made some unofficial visits recently as well. He informed us that he's been to visit the Gamecocks and Volunteers.

We asked him to share his most memorable game and he responded, "Probably against Colleton County my freshman year. I had 10 tackles, 1 pass breakup, a sack, and a forced fumble."

The Summerville standout knows what he's looking for in a college already too. "Location, playing time, and education will be the most important factors for me. I'd like to major in Nutrition."

On a strong Green Wave team the senior linebacker has managed to shine and he feels the following are reasons why he's able to excel. "I can run sideline to sideline, take up good angles, and I'm quick off the ball." He also says there's a specific area he'd like to show an improvement on. "I want to improve my pass coverage."

With that being said Ball-Collins may get a look at safety on the next level and he's got the testing numbers and mentality to back up that possibility. He's a monster in the weight room bench pressing 365 pounds and squatting 400 pounds. He also runs the 40 in 4.61 seconds and boasts a 30 inch vertical leap.

College coaches should take notice because Ball-Collins is an intriguing prospect. Some may look at him as a tweener between linebacker and safety but his numbers don't lie. The production is superb from this senior and we're expecting his recruitment to pick up.
