Dorman: A Team To Watch Out For

It appears the Dorman Cavaliers are back!!! The Cavaliers have been very impressive this season and are looking to make noise in the AAAA playoffs. Inside a look at some of their key players and a few that should become major targets on the recruiting front including 2009 CB Walt Canty (pictured).

It's been a strong season for the Dorman Cavaliers football team. Coach Dave Gutshall has his team loaded with talent and besides a loss at the hands of #1 Byrnes they have won every other game this season currently standing with a (7-1) record. For many it has been a surprise but don't tell that to Cavaliers. Here we highlight some of their top players as they look primed to make a deep run into the AAAA playoff pool.

Key Players

  • #4 Walt Canty (JR)- Canty plays a great deal at CB for the Cavaliers and he does so with much swagger. What makes him so impressive is his ability to make plays on the ball. He also lines up in the Cavalier offensive backfield at QB at times as well. Also returns punts for the Cavaliers. A great all-around talent with major upside. He is quickly emerging as one of the top prospects in the 2009 class.
  • #5 Johnny Foster (SOPH)- Foster lines up at QB for the Cavaliers and guides the offense very well. Has great wheels but can also make some passes when needed. Just a sophomore his development could make him a player to watch in the 2010 class.
  • #19 Charon Peake (FR)- We heard about this young man before we ever laid eyes on him. All indications point to him being a high major prospect by the time he's done. We've seen him twice this season and his potential is unlimited. Tall and rangy he shows solid skills at WR. Could be the early frontrunner for the top South Carolina player in the 2011 class.
  • #22 Ashlin Butler (JR)- Butler gives the Cavaliers another threat at the RB position. Has opened some eyes this season and should get some looks from colleges. Also a
  • #30 Christian Graham (SR)- We wish we could've had this site over a year ago because Graham deserves more publicity than he gets. Workhorse RB with great vision. Has multiple 100 yard games and went for 200+ yards in a victory last night over Mauldin. Also a member of the last year's state championship 4x400 relay team for the Cavaliers.
