WR/RB Marlin Butler: Back With Big Numbers

A bruised sternum kept WR/RB Marlin Butler out of action for quite a while but his return to the field on Friday night was spectacular for the Southside Tigers despite a 40-34 loss in double overtime to Blacksburg.

We knew Marlin Butler was a talented athlete but we were wondering how he'd respond to getting back on the field after missing some games due to bruised sternum. Mr. Butler is back!

The 2009 WR/RB prospect for Southside had a huge game against Blacksburg on Friday night. The Tigers suffered a heartbreaking 40-34 loss in double overtime but you can't blame Butler for his efforts. On just 8 carries he ran for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns. Oh yeah he also returned a punt 79 yards for a touchdown as well.

Butler who is already hearing from Georgia Tech and has made a visit to Atlanta to see the Yellow Jackets this season will continue to hear from new schools as he continues to blow up. Butler projects towards the top portion of the preliminary board for the top 2009 players in South Carolina which will be unveiled very soon.
