UP NEXT: 2009 WR Cordarrelle Patterson

Northwestern 2009 WR Cordarrelle Patterson has plenty of upside. His potential and outstanding play lands him as the next player in our "UP NEXT" series. Come inside with SCPrepNation.com as we continue to bring you scoop on the top players in the state.

The Northwestern Trojans had a remarkable season this year. The Trojans went on a tremendous run after losing their opener but saw their season come to an end in the Upper State AAAA Division 1 playoffs against Byrnes. The Trojans though should be fine as they will return a number of starters on both sides of the ball for next season. One of their top weapons on offense is 2009 WR Cordarrelle Patterson and he's the next player to be featured in our "UP NEXT" series.

For Patterson it's been a strong season as one of the primary targets for QB Will King. Northwestern has lit up the scoreboards all season and at 6'2 170 pounds Patterson provides a nice target. Good enough in fact that he has 70 receptions for 1089 yards and 17 touchdowns going into the matchup against Byrnes. Against the Rebels he caught 6 passes for 108 yards.

Currently Cordarrelle says he isn't hearing from any schools that he's aware of but that all could change in the near future. We expect the Northwestern athletic department and Patterson household to be flooded with mail soon.

Cordarrelle says, "I'm pretty good at getting open, but I'd like to work on getting off the ball more for next year." He also talked about his most memorable performance this season as well. "I'd have to say my best game was against Lancaster. I had 8 catches for 203 yards and a touchdown."

For next season Patterson says the goals are for he and his teammates to improve on their mistakes and get better.

In regards to schools he's most interested in hearing from there's one that stands out. "I'd like to hear from Florida State." He also has an idea as to what he's looking for when choosing a college later on. "Location, education, and playing time are going to be important for me."
