McCaskill's stock blew up quickly late last season and during the camp circuit. He soon committed to the Kentucky Wildcats. Guiding the offense as a QB currently McCaskill will probably move to his natural position of WR on the next level. His abilities on the field are top notch as he's put up some outstanding numbers this season. "I've got 1390 yards passing with 14 TDs. 733 yards rushing for 9 TDs and 454 receiving yards for 7 TDs."
Last Friday McCaskill and his Cyclone teammates won the AAA Upper State Championship by defeating Union County 16-0. Going into the game McCaskill and company had a lot on their mind he says. "This game was for respect! We had been hearing how big they were and how they were going to manhandle us and we just came out and outplayed them in every aspect of the game."
With just one more game to line up with his teammates and it all on the line McCaskill had this to say about this weekend's state championship game. "It's hard because I've been through the good and the bad with the Cyclones. I love my school and and then my senior class that I've played with. It would be great to cap our year off with the state title!"
Although he remains committed to the Kentucky Wildcats other programs still continue to recruit the versatile standout. "South Carolina, Clemson, and Penn State are recruiting me pretty hard still. Penn State just offered me this past Wednesday actually."
Given the new offer on the table McCaskill is still with the Wildcats but he says he's "85%" to the SEC program currently. Wildcat fans shouldn't be alarmed we don't think. He watched the Kentucky-Tennessee 4 overtime thriller last Saturday and came away feeling more love than ever for the Wildcats. "I love the way they pass the ball. It was a great game! I'm excited about being a part of their program and I'm ready to work with Joker Phillips."
For now Eugene's focus remains on the task at hand with his Cyclones teammates as they are busy preparing for Wilson High School. SCPrepNation.com will there for all of the games and bring you the best photographs, coverage, and video of the action at Williams-Brice Stadium.
