"It was fun. I knew I had to go out and perform my best especially playing against the best from the Upstate at practice."
Going into the game a number of things ran through his mind he says, "I didn't expect to get as many carries as I got because I know we were going to sub in and out every other play or series. I didn't expect to be MVP of the game either, but I knew I performed my best out there."
The experience brought forth many friendships for all the participants as well, Hatten included. "I roomed with Maurice Brown a linebacker from Blacksburg. I met a lot of new friends (J.T. Floyd, Chris Wallace, Terrell Springs, and etc.) Everybody bonded so quick it was like we all new each other before we met one another. We had a lot of fun times. I had plenty with guys that I never really knew but only for a week."
On the recruiting front things haven't really changed yet for Hatten. "I'm hearing from two schools. Hutchinson Blue Dragons (JUCO) and another school in Mississippi. I think Hutchinson is close to offering me."
With Signing Day approaching Hatten is taking a wait and see outlook on things. "I would probably try junior college if nothing big happens before Signing Day."
He reflected on his career at Westside High School where he'll always be a legend. "My fondest memories are probably breaking the school all-time rushing record, being North-South MVP, and being the 1st team to go undefeated at home at Westside."
