As a part of Northwestern's high powered offensive attack Adams teams with fellow 2009 prospects WR Cordarrelle Patterson and RB/ATH Jarrett Neely. This past season LaBris caught 64 passes for 879 yards and 10 touchdowns.
We caught LaBris in action twice this season and came away impressed with his abilities on the field. At a legit 6'2 185 pounds he has good size and provides a nice target for his quarterback. What we saw was a wideout who currently runs some very good routes and shows good hands. He may not be the fastest player in the world but he's fast enough and runs good enough routes to get separation. Once he secures the ball that's where his size and strength is apparent. LaBris is strong enough to shrug off tacklers and get additional yardage. Another area where Adams shines is his blocking ability. He sought out defenders to block willingly and once engaged kept his defender out of the play.
For now Adams says he's pretty clear about what he wants to do this offseason in preparations for his senior season next year. "On a personal level I want to work on improving my speed. I also want to help my team have an even better season next year and win the state championship." The Trojans lost just 2 games last season and Adams says he enjoyed his best game in one of those losses to Charlotte Country Day (NC) which opened the Trojans season. "Yeah I had a really good game against Charlotte Country Day. I had 8 catches for 148 yards." Considering that he shares the offensive spotlight with 2 other top 2009 prospects it's easy to see that Adams had a productive season.
Adams also has a good idea as to what he's looking for in a college and what intangibles will be most important to him. "I'd have to say a getting a good education will be most important and so will be location. I want to major in sports management when I go to school."
Adams says there are a number of schools he's highly interested in at this point in his recruitment. "I like South Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Georgia Tech the most right now."
