Allen Smith, the 6-1, 225 pound linebacker from Keenan HS recently informed that things have been winding down with his recruitment. "Basically it's between two schools right now; Wofford and Furman," Smith said. "Both of them are pretty evenly matched."

Smith appears to be quite familiar with what both programs have to offer him. "I went up to Wofford for an official visit not too long ago," he said. "I haven't taken an official to Furman, but they did an in-home visit with me. I've also been up there quite a few times for a couple of unofficial visits."

Allen told that he's looking to make his decision within the next week or so. However, he did admit that it was going to be a very tough choice between the two in-state programs. "They both have a good balance between academics and athletics," Smith said. "I'm just going to look at both programs closely, and make my decision from there. It's going to be a very, very hard choice for me."

Last season Smith had 91 tackles, 11 sacks, 9 blocked kicks (including punts and field goals), 3 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. He was selected to play in the 2007 North-South All-Star Game this past December.
