Big Offers Rolling In For Alshaun Jeffrey

Calhoun County High School WR/DB Alshaun Jeffrey has been watching his recruitment soar through the roof as of late. The gifted junior currently has three big-time scholarship offers under his belt, and will likely add more before it's all said and done. gave the Palmetto State standout a quick buzz to get the latest on his recruitment. One particular name that Palmetto State football fans will continuously hear about throughout the course of the 2009 recruiting class is, Alshaun Jeffrey. Jeffrey is a 6-4, 200 pound athlete who starred on both sides of the ball as a junior for Calhoun County last fall. Jeffrey often showed flashes of brilliance, dominating from both the WR/DB positions. His play from a season ago has garnered himself some early attention, most of which has been coming from the SEC. "Right now I have three offers," Jeffrey said. "I have offers from South Carolina, Kentucky, and Alabama."

Along with the schools that have offered, the big-play receiver/defensive back has been hearing from several other top programs such as, Notre Dame, Georgia, and Clemson, to name a few. To take things a step further, there has been some speculation that Wake Forest could soon throw an offer on the table for the gifted athlete.

Last season Jeffrey had 850 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns on offense. On the defensive side of the ball he picked off 7 passes, and took two of them back to the house for scores.

Now-a-days, prospects have been known to make their decisions relatively early in regards to their college destination. However, Jeffrey is no hurry. He intends on waiting out the process a little while before making his decision. "I'm not counting anybody out right now," Jeffrey said. "I am pretty open with things. I'm just trying to pick up as many offers as I can."
