In this edition of our "UP NEXT" series we feature a standout student-athlete from Greer High School, 2009 OL Tymeco Gregory. ACC, SEC, and Pac-10 schools have already made contact and the 6'2 270 pound standout is looking to make waves this offseason on the camp/combine circuit.

We love to bring you the very best student-athletes in the Palmetto State and we strive to find the players who have flown under the radar for far too long. 2009 Greer High OL Tymeco Gregory shines on the field and in the classroom and we proudly feature him in this edition of our "UP NEXT" series.

The big guys in the trenches rarely get the love they deserve and Tymeco Gregory is amongst the very brightest in the 2009 class. At 6'2 270 pounds Gregory has nice size and knows how to utilize it. He talked about his exploits last year on the field for the Yellow Jackets. "I graded out with a 88% average per game. I also had 78 knockdowns too."

Gregory is just as outstanding in the classroom as he is on the football field. Sporting a 3.75 GPA uses his smarts to excel as a offensive lineman. "I'm pretty solid. I've got long arms which is good for pass protection and my feet are pretty quick too for pulling. I'm pretty explosive off the ball and I really study the game and understand it greatly. All of those things combined it helps me to not make many mistakes."

His work hasn't gone unnoticed either. Schools have been showering Gregory with mail and inquiries early and often. Lately though he says a few programs have really stepped up their recruitment of him. "Duke, Georgia Tech, Stanford, LSU, Clemson, and South Carolina are showing me the most interest right now. Out of those schools Georgia Tech, LSU, and Clemson are recruiting me the hardest."

The 2009 standout also shared his early list of favorites as well. "I'd say Duke, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Miami, and Hawaii are my top five."

The offseason will soon be here but Gregory has been working hard since the Yellow Jackets season ended. "I've been working hard to improve my speed and strength. I will try to hit a few camps and combines this summer too to try and increase my interest."

When asked if he looked up to anyone for inspiration on the gridiron and beyond he said, "Jason Taylor and Jonathan Ogden are my favorite players, they are the hardest working players in the game in my book. Though if you're talking about who I look up to for inspiration it would be my parents because my mom is a strong single parent and my dad supports everything I do and I want to pass those traits on one day."

One thing is clear for Gregory, he is looking for a college program that will provide him the opportunity to play the game he loves but also to obtain a high level college degree to succeed in life after sports. "A school with strong academics is top priority for me, that along with a great football tradition."
