Stratford's Jeremy Buncum Commits!

Stratford High's, Jeremy Buncum, may not be a household name in the recruiting world, but apparently he's impressed the right person/program, in order to move a step closer to playing on Saturdays next fall. Come inside to find out where the 6-1 195 pound OLB will be spending the next four years of his career.

Jeremy Buncum will be making a short trip to Charleston, SC with teammate, Asheton Jordan, to suit up for Coach Kevin Higgins and the Citadel Bulldogs next fall. The 6-1, 195 pound star made his decision shortly after an official visit with them. "My parents and I really feel like The Citadel is a good fit for me," Buncum said. "They're a really good school from an academic standpoint. Athletically, I feel like they are on the move as well."

Buncum chose The Citadel over Appalachian State. In actuality, he was scheduled to make an official visit to App State this past weekend, but after an overwhelming visit to The Citadel, he decided to pass. "Appalachian State already has an established program," Buncum said. "I wanted to go to another program and help them reach that national prominence, like Appalachian State. I really feel like The Citadel is that place. I feel like their team is going somewhere."

Jeremy plans to major in a program that is going to prepare him for Law School after receiving his four-year degree from The Citadel; possibly Political Science. At any rate, whatever he decides, you can rest assure that his grades will be in great shape to do so… Buncum made an 1120 on his SAT (math and verbal), and is currently sporting a 3.58 core GPA in the classroom. will continue to bring you the latest recruiting news as the clock ticks toward Signing Day 2008…
