Damario Jeffrey Emerging Quickly

Damario Jeffrey's recruitment is off to a hot start. The Columbia High star currently has five scholarship offers under his belt, and appears to be in position to land several more. SCPrepNation.com caught up with the Palmetto State standout to get the latest scoop on his recruitment. Come inside for more details.

Damario Jeffrey is quickly setting the tone to become one of the most highly sought after prospects in the ‘09 recruiting class, and he has an impressive list of offers to prove it. "I have five offers so far," Damario said. "They are from Virginia Tech, Marshall, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Clemson."

Since picking up early offers from the schools previously mentioned, Jeffrey has been drawing attention from several other top programs throughout the country. Within the last few weeks Jeffrey has been picking up interest from programs like Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Maryland, and Louisville to name a few.

Although it is fairly early in the recruiting game for Jeffrey, he is not ashamed when it comes to letting others know who is currently in the lead for his signature. "Right now Virginia Tech is leading," Jeffrey said without hesitation. "I really like Virginia Tech because year in and year out they have a good defense. They are also a very good school academically."

Despite Jeffrey being very fond of the Hokies, the gifted athlete isn't ruling out anybody just yet. He has already started making his rounds to various schools, to see what each program has to offer. "I went to South Carolina's Junior Day this past weekend," Jeffrey said. "I'll be going to Alabama's Junior Day on February 16th and North Carolina's Junior Day also."

Last fall Jeffrey recorded 109 tackles, 5 interceptions, 4 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles on the defensive side of the ball. On offense he caught 12 passes for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 10 times for 130 yards and 4 touchdowns.
