UP NEXT: 2009 Daniel QB Justin Walker

The Daniel High football program has seen plenty of success over the last few decades. Last season saw the Lions surprise a few folks with another great season. The leader of their offense, QB Justin Walker, is looking to impress college coaches next year as a senior. SCPrepNation.com brings you the very latest on the 2009 prospect with outstanding playmaking ability.

Standing 6'2 1/2 inches tall and weighing in at 200 pounds Daniel QB Justin Walker isn't a typical high school signal caller. Walker is built with a college ready frame and last season he made a number of huge plays for the Lions in their playoff run last year. SCPrepNation.com caught up with Walker, a 2009 prospect, for the very latest. In fact, Walker is the next prospect to be featured in our "UP NEXT" series.

A year ago Walker accumulated some nice stats for the Lions. Walker was 81-158 for 1393 yards 16 TDs and 7 INTs. He also had similar number his sophomore season going 61-120 for 1390 yards 19 TDs and 8 INTs. This past season he played through some nagging injuries including what he recalled what was probably his best game of the season. "My best game last year was probably against Pickens. I was 11 for 15 for 189 yds & 3 TDs. I consider it my best game because I got injured on the first drive (turf toe) & I hopped around the rest of the game and did a pretty good job."

With 2 years experience already under his belt on the varsity level Walker has some areas of his game that he'll work extra hard on to improve his stock. "I want to work more on my agility and studying more game film."

As of now Walker says he makes a lot of plays due to his arm strength and overall physical strength to get out of would be sacks. Due to his blend of size, strength, and athleticism he's already hearing from schools like Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina.

"I made a visit to South Carolina for their junior day and will be going to Clemson's on Saturday. (Interview was conducted prior to Clemson's junior day) Right now I'm most interested in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Clemson." Walker says he doesn't have a clear favorite at this point in his recruitment though.

Walker does however have a busy visit schedule slated this summer. "I plan on going to UNC, Georgia Tech, Clemson, and South Carolina. I also plan on going to the Nike camp too." Two factors will weigh heavily for Walker when it comes time to make a final decision for college. "The coaching staff and location will be very important for me when I make my decision."
