Last year Tavaras had some success rushing for 1023 yards on 189 carries and scored 7 touchdowns. Next season the 2009 prospect hopes to improve on all of those numbers. "I want to rush for at least 1500 yards and help my team win a lot of games and ultimately a championship." He also lined up as a cornerback for Battery Creek.
That success he enjoyed last season has already earned him a ton of mail from some schools early on. "I'm hearing a lot from Auburn, Wake Forest, South Carolina, UAB, and Catawba. Auburn is probably coming after me the hardest out of those schools right now." Pinckney says he'd like to hear from the Clemson Tigers as they are his favorite school.
Battery Creek played some of the best teams in the lowcountry and Pinckney shared with us some of the top players he and his squad faced last year. "A.J. Green from Summerville was good. Adrian Byas, Duane Chisholm, and Devin Taylor all of Beaufort were really good too. We also played Berkeley and they had Andre Ellington."
He also touched on some games slated for next season that he's really looking forward to. "I'm really looking forward to playing Beaufort High and Bluffton High. Beaufort because it's our big rival and Bluffton because I used to go there and my dad is a coach for their football team."
As Tavaras Pinckney looks to entice more suitors due to his tremendous speed and ability to make big plays next season SCPrepNation.com will continue to bring you the very latest so keep it locked right here.
