March Madness Player Updates (SEC)

SCPrepNation.com takes a quick look at former South Carolina prep hoopsters playing in the SEC tournament Thursday trying to keep their seasons going and possible March Madness hopes alive. Guys like former Chester star Devan Downey (pictured) got it done on Thursday!

Devan Downey (South Carolina)-the former Chester High star continues to showcase his abilities for the Gamecocks as they pulled off a mild upset of LSU in the opening round of the SEC tourney. Downey almost had a triple-double with 12 points, 11 assists, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals in the 77-73 win.

Zam Fredrick (South Carolina)-the former Calhoun County product added 12 points in the win.

Michael Holmes (South Carolina)-the Lee Central High alum continues to play at a high rate. Earned All-SEC freshman team honors earlier this week and he could be a great one before he leaves Columbia in 3 more years. Had 16 points and 4 rebounds for the Gamecocks versus LSU.

Lucas Hargrove (Auburn)-the former Richland Northeast star had a great showing in a tough 93-82 loss versus Vanderbilt. Hargrove had 16 points and 8 boards in the losing effort.
