Things have steadily improved for Roberts and he has been working diligently to prepare for his senior season. "I've grown another inch since this past season so I'm at 6'1 now. I am going to keep working on getting stronger and faster. I ran a 4.73 in the 40 before this past season and I'd like to get it down in the low 4.6 range or faster. I've been doing a lot of speed training and we've been lifting three times a week for football. I will be doing a lot of timing drills with my receivers."
The 2009 prospect will also be making a splash on the camp circuit this offseason too he informed us. "I'm going to the Elite 11 Camp at Penn State on May 10. Yeah I'm really excited. I'm gonna fly up that Friday and I already talked to them (Penn State staff). I want to go there and visit the campus. I think it starts at 9 and is until 11 and I talked with the Penn State QB coach to see about checking out the campus. It'll be really good to see how I match up with everyone from all over because there will be a lot of talented QBs there."
Roberts is hearing from a handful of schools for football on the recruiting front and he shared them with us. "I'm hearing from Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Delaware, Presbyterian, Georgia Southern, and Wingate." When it comes to baseball his list is extremely extensive however. "I'm hearing from all of the schools in the southeast pretty much for baseball." His talents on the diamond also landed him a recent honor as well. "I was selected to the Under Armour National Baseball Team for the game they only selected 14 players from across the country. It will be in Jupiter Florida. I think I may get some offers being there."
Roberts already has in mind what unoffical visits he'd like to make this offseason. "I've already visited Virginia unofficially in February. I also went and checked out Vanderbilt, I really liked it there. I also want to take trips to Maryland, Notre Dame, and Tennessee. I can go to Clemson anytime because I'm only 30 minutes away. This summer I'm taking a trip to Auburn for baseball."
Currently Roberts says he has a 2-0 record as a pitcher and is batting .411. He has pitched 13 innings and given up just one run.
