Meet Bucky Kennedy, a 5-11, 195 pound running back from Ridge View HS. Although he may not be famously known in the recruiting world, he unquestionably possesses the talent/skill level to land a spot on a DI program next year.
After a successful junior season on the gridiron last fall, where he rushed for 1356 yards, Kennedy has been hearing from a number of programs, primarily from the ACC and the Ivies. His list of suitors consists of Georgia Tech, Auburn, Clemson, Wake Forest, Duke, Notre Dame, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale, just to name a few...
Like several other '09 prospects, Kennedy has taken a few road trips to check on some of the programs that have been expressing interest in him early on. "I went to Auburn and Georgia Tech," Kennedy said. "The Auburn trip was good. I thought the campus was really beautiful. I really liked the atmosphere out there. I liked the Georgia Tech visit a lot too. I liked the coaches at both programs. They all seemed really nice and down to earth."
Kennedy enjoyed both visits so much, that he plans to make additional trips to both universities sometime in the near future. "I'll be going to Auburn and Georgia Tech for their camps this summer," Kennedy said. "They invited me to come and workout with them. I am also thinking about going to a Clemson camp."
Although Kennedy appears to be very high on Georgia Tech and Auburn, he is not claiming any favorites. "I don't have any leaders yet," Kennedy stated. "I have been looking into most of the schools that have been recruiting me so far. I'm not trying to rule out anyone right now."
Academics do not appear to be a problem for Kennedy. The prospective student-athlete is currently carrying a 3.6 Core GPA in the classroom. He is also eligible to graduate in December if he so chooses…
