Celtics Look To Bounce Back In Pool Play

Game 1 was a brutal one for the Carolina Celtics but would they be able to bounce back after a big loss in pool play. Taking on a strong Illinois Wolves squad the Celtics would have their hands full in their second game. With Devin Booker back home in South Carolina just how would they do? PG/SF Quinton Thomas (pictured) continues to play well this AAU season.

With game one of pool play behind them the Celtics obviously wanted to start anew suffering such a resounding loss. Refocused and energized Jonathan Campbell's squad wanted to go out and put forth a strong effort. In game two they were able to gather themselves and play together despite the absence of top 100 prospect PF Devin Booker.

"The Celtics came out after the loss against The Family and got it together. They were tired from some extensive traveling the last two weekends but the loss seems to have shocked them. They played pretty well against the Illinois Wolves who dropped The Family by 20 points on Friday. The Celtics managed to pull out a tough 61-59 win in their second game of pool play. Khris Middleton lead the way with 14 points, Quinton Thomas had 13, Willis Hall had 11, Joe McNeely had 4, and Robbie Dreher has been remained cold with just 2 points. He's been getting d'ed up pretty strongly in both games so far. We'll see how he responds. The team has started to come together despite Devin not playing this weekend. I believe they will next face the Baltimore Stars next."

Ty Crowe will be in Akron all weekend covering the Carolina Celtics so stay tuned right here!

We will have more information on the South Carolina Ravens 16U squad who is also playing at the King James Shooting Stars Classic later on this afternoon so check back with us.
