Come inside for the latest.

Note to opponents of the Greenwood Eagles next season...hope you have an excellent offensive line or its going to be a long night. No we're not talking solely because of Sam Montgomery but 2010 DT Kelcy Quarles. The 2010 prospect created a buzz last season and in fact he's already earned a scholarship offer. Quarles took some time out to talk with SCPrepNation.com about it all.

Standing 6'4 245 pounds Quarles is a specimen to behold. In fact many folks find his size and athleticism "freakish" considering his young age. Kelcy had a strong showing as a sophomore this past season and totaled 10 sacks. When asked what he felt were his strengths at this point in his career he answered, "I'm talented because I'm big for my age, I'm a freak on the field because I love to hit. I'm a very good pass rusher also." Given that he's got two more seasons ahead of him Quarles says there is an area that he will be keying on to try and get even better for next season. "I need to work hard on improving my pad level."

One game last year was one of Kelcy's most memorable he says, "Probably the Laurens game. I had a couple of big plays that turned that game around. I had 2 sacks and forced a fumble that resulted in a safety. I had a lot of tackles that game."

Not all games were good memories for the 2010 standout though he said. "The Dorman game was tough because that's when I got hurt. I'm looking forward to all of the games next season though."

His talent is undeniable as one school has already offered the 2010 prospect. "South Carolina has offered me. I'm hearing a lot from them, Virginia, and Florida State." Although early in his recruitment Quarles has an early list of favorites that he wanted to share with us. "My favorites are South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU."
