S Demazio Skelton Looking For Offers

After watching Demazio Skelton of Myrtle Beach High in action we think he just might be the top prospect in the state without a scholarship offer in hand. Analyzing his highlight film which is one of the very best we've seen in recent years we interviewed Skelton for the very latest regarding his recruitment. Come inside and see what schools are chasing the Seahawks standout safety prospect.

Myrtle Beach High head coach Scott Earley has seen plenty of talent come through his Seahawks program over the years. Having seen so much talent Earley is just as excited about 2009 safety Demazio Skelton as almost any other prospect ever to come through the doors at Myrtle Beach High.

A glance at the numbers Skelton posted last season show his talent on the field. "I had 89 total tackles with 53 of them solo. I had 9 TFL and 5 interceptions for 214 yards and returned 2 of those picks for touchdowns." One game Skelton remembers as his best from the past season. "I would have to say our third game of the year we were playing big time rivals Dillon. I had 12 tackles and 2 interceptions and one of them I returned for a 103 yard touchdown. I just had everything go my way I guess and I really think I helped my team win that day!"

A few schools already have Skelton on the radar and he shared those with us. "South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee are the schools that I hear from currently. South Carolina and Clemson are recruiting me the hardest right now I would say though." Currently Skelton doesn't have any scholarship offers but he did share with us a top 5 list of his early favorites at this point. "I like Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina, Miami, and Tennessee the most right now. I really don't have a clear favorite right now but if I had to pick one it'd be Georgia."

If you'd have the opportunity to see Skelton in action then you'd be a witness to the fact that when he gets a clean shot at you he may be the most devastating safety in terms of big time hits in the state. If he isn't he's right up there with the likes of DeMario Jeffrey, Chris Payne, Justin Bright, and D.J. Swearinger. We asked Demazio if he'd rather drop an opponent with a monster hit or just be content with locking down an opponent and keeping the ball out of their hands? "It would depend on how the game is going and what my team needs at that time! And what kind of role they need me to play. I enjoy both though."

With a number of schools already taking a long hard look at him Skelton told us what he's looking for in a college home. "I'd say location, education, and playing time are the most important things for me."

Skelton and his Myrtle Beach Seahawks return many key components of their team next season and we asked him what he envisioned for his team and himself next season. "Well most importantly I would say my personal goal is to help my team win a state championship and just have fun playing football and just play hard during every game and every play!"

The Seahawks are always ranked highly in the AAA ranks and with that bullseye on them his take on their schedule next season is refreshing. "I really look at every game we play as ones that we circle on the calendar. I say all of them because I think you should go in to every game like it's your last so every game is circled!"

SCPrepNation.com will continue to bring you the very latest regarding Demazio Skelton as he continues to blow up on the recruiting radar. College coaches looking for a dynamic playmaker in the defensive backfield at safety should take an extended look at the Myrtle Beach High School standout!
