One program who is trying to establish a pipeline relationship with the Byrnes Rebels is Texas A&M. The Big 12 school has offered a host of Rebels in the past few months and it appears as if they intend on making the Duncan, SC school a regular stop during recruiting trips. The Aggies had already offered 2009 S Justin Bright and CB Riyahd Richardson recently. They decided it was time to up the ante for a pair of 2010 prospects from Byrnes as well.
Brandon Willis and Corey Miller both landed offers from Texas A&M last week. We caught up with Miller for an update on his thoughts about his first offer and what he knows about the Aggies at this point in his recruitment. "I know that they have put a lot of players in the pros and that they have a nice team every year but I'm going to find out more about them." As for his feelings about getting that first offer he replied, "I was very excited about it. It felt real good to know someone was out there and liked me that much to offer me."
Willis is already being recruited by a number of high level D1 programs and he shared who he's hearing from and his early favorites as well at this juncture in his recruitment. "I'm hearing from Florida, Florida State, Clemson, South Carolina, and Georgia along with Texas A&M of course. I'd have to say my favorites right now would be Florida State, Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Virginia Tech."
The 2010 prospect was set to attend the Under Armour/Scout.com combine in Charlotte this past Saturday but was unable to attend. His teammate and fellow defensive lineman Corey Miller upped his stock in a big way with an impressive performance in Charlotte.
