Byrnes Baller Nori Johnson Has More Interest

Another FREE update courtesy of featuring Byrnes basketball standout Nori Johnson. One of the most underrated players in the state Johnson is starting to hearing from a few D1 programs.

Football is king at Byrnes High School but don't overlook hoops prospect Nori Johnson. The 2009 product put together a strong season last year as a junior and has created a nice following of schools. Johnson took some time out of a busy schedule to talk with to give you the inside scoop in regards to his recruitment.

KF: What were your averages from this past season?
NJ: 18.6 points, 4.2 assists , and 7 rebounds per game.

KF: What was the team's record this past season?
NJ: 15-8

KF: Did you earn any awards or honors?
NJ: I made the Battle At The Border All-Tournament Team, I was also named the Spartanburg Herald-Journal Player Of The Week, and also made the All-Region Team.

KF: What schools are you hearing from currently?
NJ: High Point, Elon, LSU, Charlotte, SC State, NC A&T, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, and Winthrop. Those are the ones that I know of so far.

KF: Do you have any early favorites at this point?
NJ: I don't have any. I'm open to anybody who wants to recruit me. I'm also interested in hearing from some of the in-state schools like Clemson and South Carolina.

KF: What do you feel are the strengths of your game at this point in your career?
NJ: I'd say my shooting, passing, being able to out smart my opponents, and getting to the rack.

KF: What parts of your game will you be working on the most this offseason?
NJ: Becoming a better defensive player, getting stronger in the weight room, ballhandling, and my leadership.

KF: What AAU team are you running with? What shoe circuit are you guys on?
NJ: Right now I'm playing with the South Carolina Rebels but I'm also looking for a sponsored team to run with.

KF: What are your goals during the AAU season?
NJ: To get more exposure, get some offers, and become a better ovearll player.

KF: What are your goals for your senior season next year?
NJ: To win a state championship and have an undefeated season.

KF: Do you have an idea as to what's going to be most important for you when looking at schools?
NJ: Education and conference strength.

KF: Do you plan on attending any camps this offseason?
NJ: I'm not sure yet but I will be attending some camps. will continue to bring you the latest concerning Nori Johnson and all of the other top prospects in the state so stay tuned.
