Update: 2011 Greer LB Will Sales

Don't expect Greer High to come up on the short end of the stick too often next season. With 2009 prospects WR/TE Desmond Parks, WR Thomas Simmons, and OL Tymeco Gregory to go along with 2010 S/LB Douglas Mack things are looking up. 2011 LB Will Sales just might be the glue to hold the Yellow Jackets together next season. Inside Sales talks about his offseason and plans.

Will Sales Profile

Nobody else brings you the best players earlier than SCPrepNation.com. This time we catch up with standout 2011 LB Will Sales of Greer High School. The last time we talked to him he was already hard at work preparing for next season. While most freshmen aren't that concerned with much outside of hanging out with their friends Sales has his eyes set on becoming one of the state's top linebackers.

"I have been lifting weights and working hard to get faster. I'm still 5'10 and I have added about 20 pounds putting me at 225 pounds now." Don't worry the additional weight was put to use in a good way. The last time we spoke with Sales he was benching 270 pounds and squatting 400 pounds. "Well I'm up to 300 pounds on the bench and 440 pounds on the squat now." His prowess in the weight room is already on pace to become one of the very strongest players in the 2011 class regardless of size or position.

As he's continued to become a manchild in the weight room Sales is still waiting for things to start picking up from a recruiting standpoint as well. Currently he says he likes Clemson, South Carolina, and Tennessee the most early on in the process. Miami remains the school of his dreams but he already has some camp visits planned this summer. "I am going to Tennessee's and South Carolina's camps."

Looking ahead to next season Sales talked about his thoughts for his team's chances. "I think we should be a lot better than last year and not have a season like last year. I would like to go to state and make the all-county team."

We'll keep you up to date as Will Sales continues to create more recruiting buzz for himself after posting 65 solo tackles and 3 sacks as a freshman last season. Stay tuned as SCPrepNation.com is your source for everything concerning South Carolina high school football and basketball recruiting.
