SCPrepNation.com and WetNot Inc. will be hosting a combine in Gastonia, NC at Forestview High School on June 28th. The combine will start at 8am. Wetnot is company who produces a cutting edge waterproof cleat cover for football players of all ages. Their state of the art cleat cover keeps players' feet and cleats dry despite wet conditions so that the athlete can be dry, fast and dominant in practice and on game day. The Wetnot Waterproof Cleat Cover also promotes good foot health that significantly decreases an athlete's chance of developing athlete's foot and other serious foot problems that can keep you on the sidelines instead of on the field. Dr. Tony L. Mathis, current President of the South Carolina Podiatric Medical Association, endorses the health benefits that the Waterproof Cleat Cover provides in saying, "An athlete's most important body part is their feet. Dark, damp, places like the insides of wet cleats are breeding grounds for infection. The Wetnot Watershield Cleat Cover keeps your foot dry during practices and on game day so that you can decrease your chances acquiring of tinea pedis (fungal foot infection), staph infections which can lead to mix flora infection which can detrimental to an atheletes performance and foot health. I strongly recommend the Waterproof Cleat Cover to all parents of cleat-wearing athletes."
The combine will be headed by Wetnot owner Tremayne Stephens and his staff. As many of you already know Stephens is a former All-American running back from Riverside High School in South Carolina and was an All-ACC running back for the North Carolina State Wolfpack. He later signed with the San Diego Chargers and played two years there before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts. Stephens is now a certified speed trainer and along with his Wetnot product is providing student athletes of all ages with knowledge and the equipment to gain an advantage on the competition.
Stephens talked about what campers will be tested on at the combine. "We are testing the athletes in the 40 yard dash, 20 yard shuttle, NFL L-Drill, ball toss, and broad jump. The athletes will also be getting our waterproof cleat cover as well. The cost of the combine is $69.95 and prospects can actually register for the combine online at www.wetnot.com."
Participants will be tested using the SPARQ testing method and will receive instruction from Stephens and staff as to how to improve their speed through technique and training tips.
SCPrepNation.com will be there for all of the days events and testing as some of the top prospects from both Carolinas will be there to learn and compete.
