College basketall coaches value versatility to a great degree. Quinton Thomas of Southside High School has the ability to play 3 positions on the next level. At 6'6 186 pounds he's got good size and tremendous length. The 2009 prospect plays small forward and point guard for his Southside team. The Tigers won the AA state championship this past season and fell in the game 2 years ago coming up short of what would have been a perfect undefeated season.
Thomas has shown very good improvement each season and has more potential to be unleashed. We look at him as more of a point forward in much the way Magic Johnson and Scottie Pippen were able to run a team despite being 6'9 and 6'7 respectively. In fact not only his nickname of "Showtime" really conjures up memories of Magic Johnson but the way he's able to make the great pass at the right moment to lead to an easy or flashy bucket. Below you can check out Quinton in action last season versus Carolina High School.
