The state of South Carolina is full of talent in the 2009 class. One of the state's top prospects is Brandon Thomas of Dorman High School. A OL/TE Thomas was just recently given 4-star status by Scout.com. We caught up with Thomas as he talks about his latest offers, camp experiences, and plans for the rest of the summer.

Thomas set it off at the Under Armour/Scout.com combine last month in Charlotte and his stock continues to rise at an alarming pace. His most recent offer came last week. "I just got offered by Kentucky. So I know have offers from Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky makes nine."

Thomas visited in-state Clemson last week and talked about his experience with the Tigers and their staff. "It went very well. I learned a lot from the coaches there and I got to meet a lot of new people." Rumors have been swirling that Thomas is a done deal to Clemson already and we asked him just where he was with the recruiting process. "Well you know Clemson is still on the top of my list. I might just hold out a little longer to see who else will offer me."

His Dorman squad competed in the Carolina Panthers 7 on 7 tourney this past weekend and came away with the championship amongst 5 teams from both North and South Carolina. With a great deal of their nucleus returning next season Dorman is expected to be a major player in the AAAA state championship race. Asked what his thoughts were about the Cavaliers success in Charlotte heading towards next season he responded, "Well it just pumps me up to know that we won the 7 on 7 Carolina Panthers title and hopefully we will be one of the top ranked teams in the state. Hopefully everyone will see us playing in Death Valley this year."

As for any new programs who have recently been contacting him Brandon says the Georgia Bulldogs have recently started to show more interest. Two of the Bulldogs frequent opponents are schools that Brandon says he's like to hear from that he hasn't so far. "Well maybe LSU and Alabama."

The camp and combine circuit is wide open right now but Brandon says he's shutting it down when it comes to football camps this summer. His focus now is on attending a few basketball camps and continuing with Dorman's passing league play.
