Standing at 5-11, and weighing in at 210 pounds, Dillon High's L'Twane Thompson is certainly not your biggest linebacker in stature, but his play on the field certainly comes up big.
Thompson is simply a ball-hawk, who has a knack for making big plays on the field. To add to that, he is without question a sure tackler. If there's any doubt, checkout the stat sheets, the numbers will speak for themselves. Thompson filled us in on the numbers he's accumulated thus far in his career.
"I had 90 tackles last year," Thompson told SCPrepNation.com. "During my sophomore year I had 141 tackles. As a freshman I recorded 136. I have a total of 367 career tackles so far."
With those kinds of numbers, you'd expect for coaches to be lining up to recruit the Dillon High stud. However, this is not the case, as Thompson informed us that only a handful of schools have been expressing interest in him thus far. "I've been getting letters from Tennessee, Maryland, Presbyterian, The Citadel, and South Carolina," he noted. "That's about it for right now. The Citadel has probably been looking at me the hardest."
Thompson reported a 4.6 in the forty-yard dash, a bench press of 285 pounds, and a vertical leap of 30 inches. He informed us that his strengths on the field are his ability to read plays, and his aggressiveness. He intends to work hard over the summer, in preparation for his final season this fall.
SCPrepNation.com will continue to keep you posted on this fine prospect from Dillon High.
Note: L'Twane is 133 tackles away from the 500 career tackles mark…
