Logan Stewart Profile

We had heard about Logan Stewart from his Boiling Springs teammate and fellow 2010 prospect Dylan Thompson. While covering the Byrnes 7 on 7 National Passing Tournament from the sidelines on a blazing hot day all of a sudden we were completely shielded from the rays of the sun. Slowly I turned around and there stood Thompson and the shade was courtesy of Mr. Stewart. After quickly ascertaining that he indeed was the size stated by his teammate we talked with Logan for a while and a few days later we were able to sit down and go one on one with the Boiling Spring Bulldog to talk about his career to this point and his recruitment.

Currently Logan says his recruitment hasn't really taken off in a big way but expect that to change soon. "I think most schools are just trying to figure out who I am right now. I am hearing from East Carolina and get a lot of mail from North Carolina and South Carolina." While it is still relatively early for in the game for him Stewart talked about the handful of schools whom he likes the most currently. "My favorites right now would be North Carolina, South Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Alabama." For now there is no clear leader for Stewart.

Stewart says there was one game in particular that he would say was his best game ever. "It would have to be against Spartanburg High School. We lost, but it was amazing how our offensive line just took over for a while." With his junior season a little over a month away the 2010 standout says he's been putting in work to improve some key facets of his game. "I've been trying to perfect my reach blocks and just getting stronger overall."

Areas where he's already showing great promise are his combination of power and speed and in his pass protection ability. Speaking of power Logan was unable to complete his maxes in the weight room during late May due to illness but he told us of his previous maxes back in April. "On the bench it's 315 pounds, squat was 390 pounds, I power cleaned 265 pounds, and my fastest 40 time is a 5.06 seconds." He's anxious to shatter those numbers in a big way soon and Stewart will let us know so we can update his numbers in the weight room.

Having been around the block in he trenches for a while Stewart has seen some fierce competition in his career thus far but two players stand out in his mind as the toughest he's had to try and keep away from his offensive backfield. "Corey Miller and Isaac Lowrance. Both of those guys are animals! Enough said."

Being in Region II-AAAA the Bulldogs face some of the toughest programs in the state but Logan says he looks forward to matching up the most against the Byrnes Rebels. "You know with Byrnes they have Corey Miller and Brandon Willis. Both of them are my boys but I'm anxious for some D1 offered talent."

Stewart is the total package as a student-athlete as he currently holds a 4.2 GPA in the classroom. He hasn't taken the SAT or ACT yet but plans on doing so in he near future so that he can show prospective schools just how strong he is academically in order to try and obtain more interest and hopefully some scholarship offers early on.

"I've been to USC during a media event but that wasn't much. I just got invited to visit Western Carolina the other day. I hope be in contact with more big schools in the near future." Having named some early favorites previously we asked him if were to get the right offer early on was there any chance he'd give an early verbal? "Absolutely! I am going to be looking closely at the program, location, coaches, and how good of an education I will recieve."
