Leon Smith Gets His First Offer

This LowCountry sleeper has been drawing attention from several in-state programs as of late. In fact, he was just recently offered by a Palmetto State DI program. Come inside for a quick update to see who was first to offer this James Island High standout.

James Island High DL/OL, Leon Smith, picked up his first scholarship offer, courtesy of the Big South. The '09 standout received an offer from Charleston Southern University at the conclusion of their 2008 Senior Prospect Camp on last weekend.

From the sounds of things, more offers may be on the horizon for the 6-0, 273 pound two-way star. "Presbyterian and Newberry may be close to offering me also," Smith told SCPrepNation.com. "I've been getting letters from several other programs as well, but I think those two programs may be next."

Smith is primarily being recruited as a defensive tackle on the next level. He currently reports a 330 bench press, and squats 540 pounds.

We will have more on the LowCountry standout as he prepares for his final season for the Trojans this fall, so stay tuned with SCPrepNation.com for much more.
