Back in the month of June, SCPrepNation.com introduced SC prep football fans to Camden High DE, Roland Johnson. Well since then, we've been keeping tabs on the Camden, SC native, and according to the 6-0, 230 pound athlete, things have been moving along pretty well for him as of late. "Everything has been going real good," Johnson told SCPrepNation.com. "Since the last time we spoke, my bench went up a little bit. I'm bench pressing 340 pounds now. I am also squatting 460 pounds now."
The weight room isn't the only place where Johnson has been having a lot of success. He has been taking part in various combines throughout the Southeast Region, and has been making a name for himself to say the very least… In fact, when we last spoke to Johnson, he had just place in the top 100 at the Schuman's National Underclassmen Combine, and was invited to Atlanta, GA for a chance to compete for Regional. Well, after competing in the Peach State, the 2010 prospect brought a very prestigious award back to the Palmetto State. "I did well in Atlanta at the Ultimate 100," Johnson said. "I won the defensive lineman MVP Award. It was truly an honor for me."
Now that the 2008 summer combine/camp circuit has concluded, Johnson has been heavily focusing his attention on this upcoming season, and several are expecting for him to have his coming out party this fall. "I'm really looking for great things this fall," Johnson said. "I've just been doing whatever I can to have a successful season. We'll be going to camp in a few days, so I've been doing whatever I can to prepare for that. I'm just ready to get started."
