The Texas A&M Aggies have had their eyes on a number of prospects from the Palmetto State, and has in fact offered quite a few of them. Could '09 standout, Nick Carson, be the next in line to receive an offer from the Aggies.
"I've been talking with Texas A&M," Carson said. "I talked to their secondary coach, Van Malone. He told me that they are recruiting heavily for DBs this year. He told me that he likes the fact that I'm 6-1, and that I have a 33 ½ inch vertical to go with that. He was impressed with my numbers from last season. When I told him that I had 10 interceptions last year he was like wow, that's unbelievable… He's trying to get some early game footage on me this year so he can evaluate me a little closer."
The Aggies are not the only team that has been checking on the LowCountry star as of recent. South Florida has been pretty involved with the two-way star as well. "They've been basically saying the same thing that A&M has been saying," Carson said. "I am actually trying to get down there for a game of something this year, to see what it's like out there."
Nick will be back to work this Friday Night when the Hawks take the field for the first time this fall. They will be facing a Columbia High team that features South Carolina commits, Damario Jeffrey and Chris Payne. Needless to say, Carson is certainly up for the challenge.
"I'm ready to go," Carson said. "We practiced hard all week and we're very confident. Our main goal is to contain Chris and Damario. I really think it's going to be a real good game; a close game too. I'm really looking forward to playing against those guys. They are real cool people."
