Porter-Guard Tandem Lands Another Offer

Porter-Gaud's basketball team has a number of top flight prospects. With star Khris Middleton already committed to Texas A&M, teammates Jamal Curry and Travis Smith are being heavily recruited. The pair just rode a few hours to visit a SC school and didn't return home empty handed either. Come inside for the latest regarding Curry & Smith!

The recruiting process has been a buzzsaw for Porter-Gaud's Jamal Curry and Travis Smith. Curry at 6'9 195 pounds has seen his stock shoot way up since the end of the high school season. His AAU play has sparked plenty of interest and he has picked up some nice offers. With school back in and his senior season here the offers continue to roll in for Curry.

"I just went up to USC Upstate with my teammate Travis Smith. They offered both of us. Travis actually has more offers than I do right now. He's got some D1 offers too."

Curry says he will also be making an official visit to Jacksonville University next Saturday September 6th. JU also recently offered Curry.

What makes Curry such an interesting prospect to so many coaches and programs is that last year was his first season of organized basketball ever. Curry is also still growing and shows tremendous skill as a rebounder and shot blocker. Curry has had some nice games against 2009 5-star PF Milton Jennings of Pinewood Prep which also has been a great learning tool for Curry's fast development.

He also has the ability to shoot the ball at a decent clip from the midrange area. Curry ran for a while this offseason with the Carolina Celtics and showed his versatility.
