Lake City CB Has DI Interest

At 5-8, 160 pounds, Lake City High's, Stevenson Gaston, does not possess the prototypical size for a CB on the next level. However though, that hasn't stopped him from attracting interest from a number of prestigious programs along the East Coast. Find out inside which schools have been giving the '09 prospect a long look.

Meet Stevenson Gaston, a 5-8, 160 pound senior from Lake City HS. Although he is listed as a cornerback prospect, this young man has played and excelled at multiple positions on the field. He has spent some time at wide receiver, running back, and quarterback.

Not only is Stevenson a solid athlete on the field, but he's also a solid student inside the classroom, "Right now I have a 3.3 GPA," Gaston said. "My SAT score is a 1030. That was on my Math and Verbal, he added."

Being that Gaston fits into to the category of a student-athlete, it has enabled him to attract some attention from a number of high-profiled colleges along the East Coast. "I've been getting interest/letters from Wofford, Duke, Davidson and Yale," Gaston told "Wofford has been coming at me the hardest out of all of them. They really like my cover skills. They feel I have good speed too. I run a 4.45 in the forty."

"Wofford invited me up for a visit, but I wasn't able to make it though," Gaston continued. "But I've recently been in touch with Coach Lantz, and I think he's coming down whenever we play Myrtle Beach."

Will the Terriers be the first program to offer the Lake City High standout? Stay tuned with to find out….
