Approximately one month ago SCPrepNation.com introduced you to sophomore sensation, Shon Carson, who will undoubtedly be one of the better prospects from out of the 2011 recruiting class. Well today we are going to introduce you to his teammate, Sheldon Robinson, a 2010 standout who could potentially turn out to be a highly rated college prospect himself.
Sheldon is simply the type of player who can excel at multiple positions on the field. You may see the 5-9, 160 pound athlete line up as a cornerback, or you may see him line up as wide receiver. He is also a major threat on special teams as a return specialist. Wherever he lines up, he's very capable of making a big play. His secret, SPEED… "My forty-yard dash time is a 4.28," Robinson told SCPrepNation.com. "That was my fastest time recorded. Actually, I ran it twice." Robinson also reported that he can vertically jump 34 inches, and that he can squat 415 pounds…
When we asked what position(s) he enjoys playing the most, the Lake City speedster responded saying, "I like playing cornerback mostly. I love playing on the defensive side of the ball. I just like to hit people (laughing)."
Things have been a little quiet on the recruiting front early on for Robinson. However though, that hasn't stopped one particular in-state program from giving him the eye early on. "I'm really not sure who all's interested in me right now," Sheldon said. "But, I know Clemson has been looking at me. That's all I really know of right now."
Robinson told SCPrepNation.com that he'd like to hear from a couple of SEC programs as well. "I like South Carolina and Kentucky too," the 2010 prospect said. "Those are two other schools that I wouldn't mind hearing from. I'd like to go and visit both of them one day."
We will continue to keep a very close eye on this youngster from Lake City, SC as his recruitment continues to develop, so stay tuned for much more…
