Williams Is Just Looking For A Chance

This Lake City High standout is simply hoping that a productive performance on the field would result into a few scholarship offers this fall. SCrepNation.com caught up with LB/FB Terrance Williams to see how things have been progressing with him on the recruiting front lately. Come inside with SCPrepNation.com to get the scoop on the '09 star.

Some prospects have the luxury of choosing a college destination from a long list of offers. And then there are others who have to patiently wait for that right program to come along and offer them a shot at continuing their careers on the next level. Such is the case with Terrance Williams, a 5-8, 185 pound LB/FB, who is currently playing in his final season for the Lake City Panthers.

Williams informed SCPrepNation.com that his recruitment is still somewhat in the beginning stages, and that he has not been receiving a lot of attention. So therefore, he has been reaching out to a few programs in an effort to get the ball rolling. "I've been filling out questionnaires; stuff like that," Williams said. "I did one for Coastal Carolina, South Carolina State and a few others."

The two-way star plans to touch bases with a few other programs in the near future… "I'm going to be getting in touch with Georgia Southern and East Carolina pretty soon," Williams said. "There's just something about their programs that I like."

As a junior last fall Williams registered close to 80 tackles, 1 interception, and 2 forced fumbles. However, those weren't the only impressive numbers recorded by the Lake City native. "The last time I ran the forty, I ran it in 4.53 seconds," Williams said. "I can squat 500 pounds, vertically jump 33 inches, and I can do 18 reps of 185 pounds."

Although Williams is quite fond of the programs he mentioned earlier. He made his point clear that he's not ruling out anybody… "I'm not trying to be picky or anything like that when it comes to choosing a school," he said. "It doesn't have to be the most prestigious program or anything like that. I'm just looking for a good college where I can play some football, and get a good education. All I want is for someone to give me a chance, I would be very grateful for the opportunity."

Note: Williams informed SCPrepNation.com that he's carrying a 3.4 GPA inside the classroom.
