Marion Dukes, one of the top offensive linemen verbally committed to the Tigers, was feeling a bit under the weather Sunday evening, but that didn't stop him from talking about some of the in-home visits he has set up this week.
"South Carolina is coming on Monday, Clemson is coming on Tuesday, and Maryland I think is coming on Wednesday," said Dukes late Sunday evening.
Dukes added that "Coach Fitch from Carolina, Coach Scott from Clemson, and Coach Seamonson from Maryland" would be the coaches from each of the respective schools he listed.
For Dukes, his season came to an end the weekend of November 8th, when Pickens fell to Greer in the upper state playoffs. However since then, he had the opportunity to take in the Tigers' big win over archrival South Carolina.
"The game last weekened was awesome, I loved it. It really was a great atmosphere, you tell the crowd was really getting into it and everything. I thought it was just a great experience," said Dukes.
In terms of official visits, Dukes set up something tentatively with South Carolina several months ago, but he may just decide to keep his lone official visit to Clemson on January 10th.
"I do have one with South Carolina set up, but I'm not sure if I'm going to take it or not. I'm thinking about it. It was set up a while ago. Even if I do take it, I'm pretty much firm with Clemson. I'm going there on January 10th and that might be it," said Dukes.
Dukes is a prospect that the Tigers' coaching staff believes can come in and contribute next season- even as a true freshman. The last time we spoke with the future Tiger, he indicated that Coach West wanted him either as a guard or tackle.
That doesn't appear to be the case now. "They want me as a tackle, that's where I'll be playing next year," added Dukes.
We'd like to conclude by thanking Marion Dukes for speaking with us, especially considering that he was feeling a little under the weather. Dukes appears to be a verbal commitment that will is a lock to wear Clemson orange next season, and don't be suprised to see him push for a spot on the two deep next fall.
