Jamal Mtshali Profile

After a tremendous showing this offseason Jamal Mtshali has taken his talents from Richland Northeast High School and moved on to Maryland where he now plays for Northwood High School. There he is continuing his steady progress on the recruiting front as well.

Prior to his Friday night game he received some attention from an ACC program who traveled up to let Mtshali know they are interested in his talents and would be watching him closely.

"Yeah some coaches from Duke came by today to see me and talk to me. They were up this way to check in with a kid who has already given them a verbal and they said they drove the extra 45 minutes out to see me in person. They got some vital information and told me they would possibly be checking me out tonight and that they will be in the future."

Mtshali continues to be a beast in the weightroom. His most recent feat in the weightroom has increased his bench press to 420 pounds now. With 4.6 speed and a 44" inch vertical it's easy to see why so many schools are watching Mtshali closely over the course of the season. The 3-star prospect has visits planned with Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Penn State, and Pittsburgh over the next couple of months in hopes of turning that interest into some possible scholarship offers.
