Marlin Butler Goes For 200+ Yards

One of the state's biggest playmakers went off again Friday night. Southside WR Marlin Butler had a huge performance in a heartbreaking 37-34 loss to Palmetto High. The 2009 standout wowed the homecoming crowd with over 200 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns on the night. Come inside for the details.

The effort was there obviously as 2009 Southside WR Marlin Butler gave it all along with his teammates on Friday against the Palmetto Mustangs. The Tigers however lost on a last second field goal 37-34.

Early on Butler's teammate 2009 Southside WR Chris Rhodes suffered an injury and had to sit out the rest of the game. Butler and company picked it up to try and shoulder the load for their injured teammate. Butler ended the night with 5 catches for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. His scoring catches came from 39, 70, and 53 yards respectively.

The loss drops Southside to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in region play. Next week they travel to Chesnee who lost their first game of the season to the Broome Centurions 7-6. The Eagles feature 2009 standout QB/ATH Cedric Proctor which should make for a highlight filled game between the two squads.
