The state of South Carolina's class of 2010 may be one of the very best in almost a decade in the eyes of many analysts. One of the players making a huge run up the rankings in the 2010 class is Irmo RB Mustafa Greene. Friday night Greene was making his case once again as one of the best junior running backs in the southeast region.
Things weren't looking good for Greene and his Irmo squad early on as they fell behind to Richland Northeast 27-10 at the half. 2010 Richland Northeast QB/WR Kersean Wilson scored two touchdowns for the Cavaliers in the first 20 minutes. Good teams and coaches are able to make adjustments and inspire their troops to overcome adversity. The Yellow Jackets took that halftime speech and put it into action. Scoring 3 second half touchdowns they shocked the Cavaliers and managed a 31-27 comeback victory.
Greene was his normal self carrying 34 times for 234 yards and 2 touchdowns. It's no wonder Tennessee and Duke have already extended scholarship offers to the 2010 standout. Expect more offers to follow as the 6'1 190 pounder will undoubtedly tear it up on the camp and combine circuit this offseason.
Stay tuned for more as we'll have an update with Greene soon to talk recruiting and his junior season.
