Beach Ball Classic Day 1 Recap

The Beach Ball Classic got underway and inside learn how teams from the Palmetto State fared going up against some of the top teams from across the nation. How did defending AA state champs Southside and Robbie Dreher (pictured) do taking on national powerhouse Arlington Country Day (FL) in the tournament's opening game? Come inside to find out.

Myrtle Beach (SC)- Southside held tough with Arlington Country Day for a long time but the Florida powerhouse had way too much size and dominated the second half powering it into the paint and crashing the boards. Southside was led by Robbie Dreher with 20 points and a great all-around game by PG Chris Rhodes who had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Mullins had a hard time containing 2009 North Carolina signee Dexter Strickland of St. Patrick (NJ) as he went for 20 points in the win. 2010 South Carolina signee PG Eric Smith had a rough opening game with just 8 points and 5 assists while Stacy Wilson lead Mullins with 17 points. Expect Smith to regroup and have a big time showing tomorrow in the opening game of Day 2.
