That elusive first offer has come finally for Battery Creek DT John Brown. The 2009 prospect made a visit outside the Palmetto State over the weekend and got some good news during his trip.
"I went up to Charlotte to visit North Carolina Tech. They offered me. They said that I was one of the top DL that they were looking for. They think that I can make plays for them and help them out."
As for the visit to the Queen City in North Carolina Brown had this to say, "It was good. I really liked the campus. I got a chance to talk with all the coaches. With it being in Charlotte I like being in a big city because there's more opportunities there."
There remains other schools in the picture as well for Brown. Schools like South Carolina State, Duquesne, and Edward Waters have all been active in the pursuit of the Battery Creek big man. "I just talked with coaches from Edward Waters today. South Carolina State has been talking with my coach to try and set up an official visit and we'll go from there. I've been there before though. It's a nice place, they have a lot of things to do there in Orangeburg. The fans are great and there's really a good environment and atmosphere with SC State. Jacksonville State just asked for film so we'll send that out soon for them."
That being said is there a chance Brown could pull the trigger early with a commitment? "No I plan on waiting things out and making a decision on Signing Day."
