The Pinewood Prep Panthers were primarily known for their passing attack on last season. But whenever they took a break from their aerial attack, they relied heavily upon running back, Melvin Lesure, for their ground duties.
Lesure was simply a workhorse for the Panthers whenever he had the ball in his hands. However, he was just as effective on the field without the ball in his possession. This young man certainly didn't mind taking on linebackers and/or anyone who was in his way.
At the conclusion of the 2008 season, things were moving a little slow on the recruiting front for Melvin. But all of that changed, once his senior highlight film started making its way around to various schools. In fact, the 5-10, 195 pound running back informed us that he now has two scholarship offers in his back pocket. "I picked up my first two offers the other day," Lesure told SCPrepNation.com. "I picked up offers from Brevard and North Greenville. Both of them were official offers."
According to Lesure, he may not be finished receiving invitations. The Lowcountry standout informed us that he's also been drawing serious attention from an ACC program. "I've been hearing from Georgia Tech a good bit lately," Lesure said. "I sent them a highlight film, and they told me that they were really impressed with what they saw. They said they really like my running style. They also like how I come out of the backfield and catch passes. They are looking at me, and three other running backs."
As things continue to heat up for Lesure on the recruiting front, be sure to stay in tuned with SCPrepNation.com for the very latest concerning this '09 prospect from out of Summerville, SC.
