Pendleton's C.J. Gleaton Lands D1 Offer

For the past few seasons Pendleton High PG/SG C.J. Gleaton has been a strong prospect on the hardwood. On Monday word had come in that Gleaton had recently received his first D1 offer. The 6'4 Pendleton standout in fact has a number of schools still heavily interested and inside you'll find out just who.

It's been a long time coming for 2009 Pendleton High PG/SG C.J. Gleaton. Named an all-state selection recently Gleaton has been on the radar of many regional colleges over the course of the past two seasons. Recently Gleaton got some good news and his coach Bobby McGowens gave us a call to give us the inside scoop.

McGowens told us, "C.J. has been offered by Division I school, Bethune-Cookman out of Daytona Beach, Florida. He is also receiving interest from USC Upstate, Presbyterian, and Wichita State."

Gleaton at one point had an offer from Coastal Carolina after having an outstanding camp performance for them over the summer. That offer apparently dried up but Gleaton has been a soldier continuing to work on his game and the offer from Bethune-Cookman is evidence of that hard work. At 6'4 and capable of playing both guard positions schools are looking for players like Gleaton who can fill multiple positions if needed. After being named to the All-State team for 2 years in a row Gleaton has proven that he is one of the brightest prospects in the Palmetto State over the course of his prep career.

For now Gleaton hasn't made a decision but obviously has a number of other suitors in the picture and will continue to keep you posted with the very latest news regarding C.J. Gleaton's recruitment so stay tuned.

NOTE: Coach McGowens also informed us that fellow 2009 G Drek Turner is receiving strong interest from Emanuel College and Allen University currently.
