2010 Sleeper Hears From Big East Program

At one point, this Baptist Hill star was solely hearing from programs within the Palmetto State. But somehow, his name has managed to leak out into Big East Country…

Most of you may be familiar with the name, Devin Gilliard, especially if you reside in the Low Country Region of South Carolina. But for those who are not, this young without question made his mark on the football field last season, excelling at multiple positions for Baptist Hill High School.

In '08, the 5-11, 175 pound athlete landed 58 passed for 1,291 yards and 11 scores from his wideout position. Defensively, he recorded 41 tackles, and picked off 6 passes while playing in the secondary for the Bobcats. The Palmetto State sleeper also starred on special teams as a return specialist, and was simply a threat to take it the distance at any given moment.

Being that Gilliard resides in the state of South Carolina, a number of in-state programs already know of him. But this young man's name could only stay within the state's borders for so long… Somehow, Gilliard's name has managed to leak out into Big East Country. "Cincinnati has been showing me some interest lately," the gifted athlete told SCPrepNation.com. "They've been sending me letters; stuff like that. I'm not too familiar with their program, but I'd love to learn more about them."

The distance from Gilliard's home to Cincinnati, OH is somewhat of a stretch. But the Low Country star informed us that he is very interested in hearing what they have to say and/or offer him…

We will continue to keep you updated on this 2010 sleeper from out of Baptist Hill High School and will certainly let you know how things progress between him and the Cincinnati Bearcats. Stay tuned for much more…
