2011 DT Gerald Dixon: New SEC Interest

As one of the top projected prospects in the 2011 class DT Gerald Dixon hasn't really felt the immense pressure of what the recruiting process can be like. Expect that to change soon as another SEC heavyweight enters the mix. The 2011 standout will also be attending the Scout.com combine in Charlotte as well to showcase his talents agaist the Carolinas very best players!

The saying is, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree," and it obviouly applies to Gerald Dixon in terms of talent on the football field. The son of former South Carolina and NFL standout Gerald Dixon Sr. has all the makings of an elite prospect in the 2011 class at defensive tackle.

We spoke briefly with the Northwestern High product and he gave us the very latest. His early favorites remain the same but there's a new school who has recently began to start showing interest as well from the SEC conference.

"My coach said that LSU is starting to show me some interest now. I haven't talked to them personally yet though." Dixon's early list includes Tennessee, South Carolina, Clemson,and now LSU as well.

In order to improve his stock he also gave us some good news. "I will be there at the Scout.com combine in Charlotte this month." The combine will feature some of the very best talent from both South Carolina and North Carolina. There will be testing, one on ones drills, and seven on seven work.
