In this edition of our UP NEXT series, we are going to introduce to you, Blythewood High School offensive lineman, Will Ferrell. The Midlands Area star will be making his return to the gridiron for his final season with the Bengals this fall.

Ferrell currently stands at 6-3, and weighs in at 275 pounds. Not only does he possess good size, but this young man brings quite a unique skill set to the game of football. Ferrell broke it all down to us in three parts: versatility, experience, and intelligence.

Experience: "I've been playing Varsity football since my 9th grade year. This coming fall I will be a 3-year starter."

Versatility: "I can play just about anywhere on the line. That's one good thing about me. I'm a pretty versatile athlete."

Intelligence: "I'm pretty smart out there on the field. I have a knack for knowing when things are going to happen, and where to be."

While we are on the subject of intelligence, the field isn't the only place where Ferrell displays his intellect. "My GPA is a 4.05," Ferrell told SCPrepNation.com. I made a 1060 on the SAT. I'd like to get my score up to 1100."

Due to Will's success on the field and inside the classroom, a number of major DI programs have been expressing early interest in the versatile OL. "Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Duke, Furman, North Carolina State, Michigan State, LSU, and Minnesota have been sending me letters; stuff like that. "But Vandy and Furman have probably been showing me the most interest so far."

Will has been invited up for a number of Junior Day visits, but has not been able to make any of them, due to his obligations to baseball. However though, he plans to make up for it this summer, whenever he hits the road to partake in several camps. "I'm going to the Vanderbilt Camp and the Furman Camp," Ferrell said. "I also plan to make it up to the Wake Forest Camp. I may go to the NC State Camp as well."
