Elliott Alford Profile
Jaquan Brantley Profile

Charlotte NC- The thermometer readings were off the charts on the practice fields of Panthers Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday and 6 teams converged there to compete in this year's Panthers 7on7 tournament. Three teams each from both North and South Carolina comprised the tournament's 6 entries. One of the teams from South Carolina that watched closely was Marlboro County High School.

We caught up with two of their top prospects in QB Elliott Alford and WR Jaquan Brantley. Both players were on top of their game on Saturday. Alford has continued to improve his game and it showed immensely in Charlotte. He threw with authority and made some really nice throws in helping MC win a few games including an impressive victory over eventual Panthers 7on7 champions Independence High (NC) in pool play.

Brantley in my opinion was just as dominating for his team as was the much larger 2011 Dorman High WR Charon Peake. The 5'9 Brantley time and time made big plays for the Bulldogs in helping them put up points on the board. He has a smoothness about him when on the field and he makes a lot of plays look effortless. After evaluating his junior highlights and watching him on Saturday he's a kid that should start to hear from more schools in our opinion and also moved way up in our Class of 2010 state player rankings.
