Keeping up with Hakeem Flowers hasn't been an easy task. As one of the southeast's hottest recruits the 2011 prospect has been extremely busy preparing for his upcoming junior season but fielding offers from potential colleges. Thursday saw an ACC offer roll in and by Friday morning another ACC offer came in for Flowers.
"Hakeem received a verbal offer from Duke University today. Duke is also rated very high on the NCAA APR (Academic Performance Rating) list. It's an honor to receive a verbal from Duke and he's looking forward to receiving the official letter in September," Flowers father informed us.
Less than 24 hours later we got another call from the elder Flowers.
"Coach Chad Jamison (Director of High School Relations) was very excited to talk to Hakeem about football at North Carolina State. The verbal offer was relayed via Hakeem's head coach Kent Haltwainger."
So with the offers from Duke and North Carolina State Flowers holds offers from all of the nearby ACC neighbors in the Research Triangle area. (Flowers already holds a verbal offer from the North Carolina Tar Heels as well.)
